At the start of this year we relaunched our podcast, enlisting radio personality and rising DJ Charlie Hedges (above) as host for a new ninety minute tour de force through upfront house music from across the world.

We’ve already featured the likes of Tough Love, Greg Wilson, Dale HowardSonny FoderaFranky RizardoPurple Disco Machine and now Philip George as guests – listen to the most recent episode of the show below.

The show focuses on some of the best accessible house music, featuring brand new music and guests from across the clubs spectrum. Our Mixcloud channel also caters for more underground offerings via extended mixes from DJs, with the podcast specifically focused on being more representative of general clubland.

We’re actively encouraging the promoters of events on our website to get in touch to get involved with it, via getting artists to feature on the three segments of the show. Here’s a run-down of what is involved for each:

Spotlight: Artist of the Month

This feature basically does what it says on the tin. If you’re working with an artist who’s responsible for a stand-out track which is doing the rounds on the dancefloors, or they’ve got some pretty exciting stuff coming up, they could be perfect for our Artist of the Month segment. The more they’ve got to tell Charlie about their projects, the better.

From the Vault: Classic Track

Our classic track feature allows us to visit some of the most defining house tracks of all time. Although we’re more than happy to ask a younger artists to pick a track for this part, a DJ with a longer career normally suits this segment best because of the ‘throwback’ aspect. All the DJ needs to do is pick their favourite classic house track, and tell us a little bit about why they’ve picked it as well as a couple of questions on upcoming projects.

Skiddle Guest Mix

Our guest mix reflects our podcast music policy, although we are open to veering away from the blueprint slightly for stuff with an underground, disco or bass edge. If you have someone in mind, but you’re not sure if it would work, feel free to get in touch with us. Each guest mix should be 30 minutes long and the guest is more than welcome to have a chat with Charlie as well for the podcast.

If you are interested in submitting an artist for the show please contact our Clubs and Dance Music Editor Becca Frankland via email.
